Santorini is a small island off of Greece with no direct US flights so you must first fly to Athens Greece and then either take a boat or plane to complete your travel
The quickest option is to fly and here is where having an agent help you make the plan comes into play. Do you want to fly in get off one plane and get onto another or do you want to spend some time in Greece maybe a night or two then fly over ? If you take the ferry consider how you will get from the airport to the port where the ferry departs from and make sure your schedule allows time for the transfers so you do not miss your boat :)
The Ferry ranges from slow 8 hour to a fast 5 hour and prices can range from $80 a person up to about $140 per person round trip 03/2018
•Athens-Santorini Ferries in 2018: There will be a Blue Star ferry going between Athens and Santorini every day, year round. It usually leaves Athens at 7:30am. In summer there will be 4 or more ferries per day from Athens to Santorini.
Flights round trip from Athens to Santorini round trip from $130 and up per person. You will need to research baggage fees as these are different from airline to airine and this is why you pay a travel agent unless you enjoy going to each airlines website and finding out what the restrictions are and additional charges airlines chargein addition which airline is better than the other. All If you ever thought why would I pay a travel agent for something I can do......We save you time looking and you will not have an unexpected fee.
